Air

Visthar was a great opportunity for us to learn the art of paper making. Once we had were done making hand made paper and experimenting with paper pulp trying to create various objects at the paper making workshop we decided to display our work in the form of an installation using the five different elements of nature. Our group chose air as the element to work on. Air being a difficult element to depict using paper the five of us put our heads together and pondered over the topic until we came up with a sketch of the final plan of what was to be done. The installation was done in a way to bring out the feeling of the word air using wind chimes and butterflies made out of hand made paper. The material we used was extremely light and the place chosen to put up the installation was the windows of the college. The main focus of the installation was a spiral which hung at the window and a base made using paper circles stacked up one on top of another which together was meant to look like a tree. To bring about uniformity in all the five installations it was decided that we depict each element usin the form of a tree. The workshop as well as the installation was a great experience for all of us as we worked together with coordination on different bits of the final project to put it all up together as one piece. Each member of the group contributed to the completion of the installation in their own way using their skills and knowledge
